Overview
Call of Duty: Warzone is a first person shooter battle royale video game developed by Infinity Ward, and later Treyarch, and published by Activision. It was released initially in April 2020 as a part of Modern Warfare and was later updated in December 2020 to join Black Ops Cold War.
Esports
Major "kill race" tournaments were hosted by community members and teams before official Activision support was unveiled in Summer 2020 with the NICKMERCS MFam Gauntlet, Vikkstar123's Warzone Series, and HusKerrs's Howl events among others supported officially. In Spring 2021, Activision announced the World Series of Warzone, the beginning stages of an official pro circuit.
