Overview

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a first person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. Released in 2021, it is the eighteenth game in the Call of Duty series.

Esports

The title was the featured game of the 2022 Season and Call of Duty League. Matches were contested in best of 5 series with Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy being the three game modes. The series layout was HP/S&D/CON/HP/S&D. In the grand final Best of 9's, the series layout was HP/S&D/CON/HP/S&D/CON/S&D/HP/S&D.

New Features

Pro vs amateur competition returned officially for the first time since the 2019 season with the introduction of the Pro-Am. The Call of Duty League also hosted a Warzone event with team from open qualifiers and one team each representing each league team.

Championship

The Los Angeles Thieves took down reigning champs Atlanta in both the Winners Finals (3-1) and Grand Finals (5-2) to win the Call of Duty League Championship. The Champs MVP went to Kenny.

Call of Duty Challengers

Offline events returned with three LAN events taking place alongside CDL majors. The Top 4 teams in Pro Points and a team from each of the 4 regional qualifiers participated in this year's Challengers Champs. After falling to Toronto Ultra.NA in Winners Round 2, Iron Blood Gaming won two Best of 5 Series against them in the Grand Finals to become Challenger Champions of the 2022 season.
