Biography[edit]
TJHaLy comes from a GameBattles background and has achieved a lot of success online, alongside the likes of ZooMaa and VeXeD and is widely renowned for his ability in Search and Destroy.
Ghosts[edit]
TJHaLy made his LAN debut during Ghosts at UMG Philadelphia 2014 playing alongside ZooMaa, VeXeD and NoXiDe for Bati and they managed a 9/12th finish. He continued to have success in the online 2K's across multiple rosters with his next LAN appearance coming at UMG Nashville 2014 on Stunner Gaming with PRPLXD, VeXeD and ColeChan where the team achieved a 9/12th finish.
Advanced Warfare[edit]
TJ began the year on the same Stunner Gaming roster that finished the previous year and at the first event of the year they achieved a 13/16th result at MLG Columbus Open 2014. After the event, the team replaced ColeChan with Huke and after consistent performances online they secured an impressive 2nd place finish at UMG Orlando 2015 in their first LAN event together, losing to OpTic Gaming in both the Winners Bracket final and Grand final. After this event TJ and Huke joined Aware Gaming alongside Accuracy and Happy. The roster finished 5th in the Pro League Season 1 and 5/6th at the Season 1 Playoffs where they lost to eventual champions OpTic Gaming in Winners Bracket round 2 and eventual runners up Denial Esports in the losers bracket.
He joined Elevate for the Pro League Season 2 and with Classic, Slacked and Temp secured a 4th place finish and an impressive 3rd place at Season 2 Playoffs, losing to FaZe Clan in the losers bracket final. After replacing Temp with Saints at UMG Washington DC 2015 the roster finished 3rd, behind OpTic Gaming and Denial Esports again. The squad then finished 2nd in the Pro League Season 3 and and 4th at the Season 3 Playoffs, making a strong losers bracket run before falling to FaZe Clan. Elevate replaced Classic with young star Octane before the final event of the year, the MLG World Finals 2015. They were drawn in Group D with Team Envy, Team Orbit NA, Lethal Gaming and Citadel Gaming and placed 2nd with a 3-1 record. They managed back to back 4-1 wins against FaZe Clan and Denial Esports in the winners bracket before losing 4-2 to OpTic Gaming in the winners bracket final and Denial Esports in the losers bracket.
Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare[edit]
TJHaLy was unable to compete for the next 2 years due to age restrictions imposed by the creation of the Call of Duty World League. He took a 2 year hiatus from competing at events for the next 2 years before returning for World War II after turning 18.
World War II[edit]
After the end of the Infinite Warfare season Rise Nation announced they would be picking up TJHaLy to replace Faccento for the upcoming season. After solid performances online, fans had high hopes for the roster heading into the first event, the 2018 CWL Dallas Open however they failed to make it out of pool play, losing to Team Kaliber and Red Reserve EU and placing 3rd. They then lost to Enigma6 Group in the losers bracket, finishing 13/16th. TJHaLy had a disappointing event overall however many put that down to this being his first LAN event for over 2 years. After the event, Rise replaced Aqua and FeLo with Gunless and Methodz and the team won the MLG GameBattles 2K Series NA 2017-12-30, their first competition together. At their first event together they secured a very impressive 3rd place finish at the 2018 CWL New Orleans Open, making a strong losers bracket before losing a game 5 to Luminosity Gaming in the losers bracket final. TJHaLy had a much better event receiving praise for his performances in Search and Destroy especially.
Modern Warfare[edit]
On October 24, the OpTic Gaming Los Angeles announced their full starting roster, with TJHaLy, Dashy, Kenny, SlasheR and JKap joining. On December 11, Chino and Goonjar joined as substitutes. Pacman joined as head coach on January 8, 2020.
OpTic opened their 2020 season by losing to both Paris Legion and "old OpTic" Chicago Huntsmen at Launch Weekend. After supposedly fixing their mistakes while not attending London, OpTic lost both of their matches in Week 3. Despite the poor start of the season, OpTic did not make any roster changes for their inaugural home series. Instead, SlasheR moved to Main AR and Dashy to SMG. The switch started slow but they reverse swept Los Angeles Guerrillas in the Battle of LA and then upset Minnesota RØKKR to win their first ever matches and advance out of groups for the first time. In a closely contested series OpTic fell to Dallas Empire 3-1 in the semifinals. After an extended break due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, OpTic returned in Week 6. Dallas defeated them in match one with the Guerrillas getting revenge in the elimination game and knocking OpTic out of the tournament. Chino came off the bench to replace JKap going into Week 7. Despite not preforming much better in terms of stats, Chino's positivity and teamwork skills immediately gave OpTic a boost and they made it out of the group stage for the second time after defeating Paris Legion and London Royal Ravens in the losers bracket. They beat Toronto Ultra in the semifinal and nearly beat Atlanta FaZe in the final but lost 3-1 in a very closely contested series. Despite making the team's first final, head coach Pacman was released from the team the following day and claims he was given no warning beforehand.
OpTic made it out of groups again in Week 8 after getting revenge against Minnesota RØKKR, who beat them in their first match, in the qualifier game. London beat them 3-2 in the semifinals but the team, especially SlasheR, continued to look very good throughout the whole event. In Week 10, the team returned to their earlier form and went out 0-2, with a particularly embarrassing series against Toronto Ultra who took map 1 by a score of 250-49. Kuavo said afterwards that the team had practiced terribly all season and that is to blame for their poor performances. On July 10, Chino was moved back to the bench with Dashy joining him. They were replaced by Drazah and Hollow from top challenger team UYU. Despite only winning one series in their first event with the new team in Week 12, they impressed and showed off their new talent in two tough series vs Florida Mutineers. They rounded out their regular season with a semifinal appearance in Week 13 that included a win over Chicago Huntsmen before losing 0-3 to Atlanta FaZe. OpTic finished the season in 9th place with 100 CDL Points.
OpTic Gaming started in Losers Round 1 at the Call of Duty League Championship 2020. They started off by defeating Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-2, with Dashy subbing in for Kuavo in Game 5 due to connection issues. OGLA then beat Minnesota RØKKR and Florida Mutineers 3-0 before losing to Chicago Huntsmen 2-3 in Losers Round 4 in one of the best series of the whole season. They finished the tournament Top 6.
Trivia[edit]
