Overview[]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a first person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Released in 2022, it is the nineteenth game in the Call of Duty series.

Esports[]

The title was the featured game of the 2023 Season and Call of Duty League. Matches were contested in best of 5 series with Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy being the three game modes. The series layout was HP/S&D/CON/HP/S&D. In the grand final Best of 9's, the series layout was HP/S&D/CON/HP/S&D/CON/S&D/HP/S&D.

New Features[]

A match restore tool was implemented to reduce full map restarts. Challenger Champs was increased to 16 teams from 8 the previous season.

Call of Duty League[]

Five majors were hosted in Raleigh, Boston, Arlington, Columbus, and Toronto with Champs taking place in Las Vegas. An online stage took place before each major. Four challenger teams qualified to take part in Major 1. An official Warzone event took place before the season began.

Championship[]

After losing 0-3 in the Winners Finals against Toronto, the Subliners got their revenge with a 5-0 win in the Grand Finals over them. KiSMET was awarded the playoffs MVP.

Call of Duty Challengers[]

Four challenger LANs took place during CDL weekends. At the 2023 Challenger Finals, OMiT took second place in their group and then only lost two maps in the whole championship bracket to win the event.
