Getting his first start covering the Collegiate Call of Duty League in 2019, SHIFT has moved further forward in casting Call of Duty now being the spotlight caster for all Checkmate Gaming productions. He also runs a successful YouTube channel covering the Call of Duty World League and the competitive game as a whole.

- 'IHOLDSHIFT' became Alan's username after a rage inducing game of Heroes of the Storm in which he continued to type in all capital letters to his teammates. When prompted to "Lay off the caps lock" he responded with "BUT I HOLD SHIFT". The name stuck ever since.
