Biography[]
Cold War[]
HyDra signing with the New York Subliners in October 2020 for the Call of Duty League 2021, the "French Phenom" was stuck in France due to travel issues related to COVID-19. He finally arrived in the United States at the beginning of March 2021. At time he played in Call of Duty Challengers with GANGSTERZ and TrainHard Esport on loan. Heading into Call of Duty League Stage 2, Paco was finally able to make it to the United States. With the team performing so well in Stage 1, he joined the Subliners Academy for play in Challengers and Elite series. HyDra was officially slotted into the starting New York Subliners lineup for Diamondcon on April 24 going into Call of Duty League Stage 3. His impact was immediate as New York took down Atlanta FaZe 3-2 in his first series with the squad. This victory ensured the tiebreaker win over FaZe as both teams finished Group B with a 4-1 record. With a round 1 bye, the Subliners started in Winners Round 2 where they beat Florida 3-0. Another 3-2 win over Atlanta sent the Subliners into the grand finals. Atlanta FaZe made their way back for another rematch and this time they were too strong as New York fell 2-5 with a great debut and performance for HyDra in major.
The Subliners won their first four matches of Stage 4 and that set them up with a battle of undefeated teams against Toronto Ultra. The maps were was close but Toronto won 3-0 and took first in Group B.
Heading into the first LAN of the season, Asim was unable to cross the Canada-United States border and so Decemate was brought on to replace him for the Major. They lost to Minnesota, but did defeat Florida 3-2 before losing 1-3 to Dallas to salvage a Top 6 finish and a handful of points. New York started Stage 5 0-3, including 0-2 in their own home series. Clayster announced he would be taking a temporary break, although Asim claimed he quit on the team. Diamondcon made his return to the roster with a win against Paris Legion and a loss to Atlanta FaZe to finish 1-4. They pushed through both LA Guerrillas and Florida Mutineers 3-2 and then lost to LA Thieves in Losers Round 3 at the Major to finish Top 8. With that loss, New York finished the 2021 season with a 24-17 (85-81) record and 240 CDL points. They secured a 5th place seed for Call of Duty League Championship 2021.
Starting in Winners Round 1, New York faced 4th seeded OpTic Chicago. The Subliners almost won 3-0, but OpTic fought back and forced a Game 5 but New York took the map and series to advance to Winners Round 2. Atlanta FaZe won 3-0 in the fastest series of the event and sent New York into losers. Minnesota RØKKR took the close series 3-1 and New York were knocked out at Top 6.
