Biography[edit]
Beginnings[edit]
Classic started playing Call of Duty at around 15 during Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on GameBattles. He was a relatively unknown player when he completed FaZe Clan's roster of Replays, Spacely, and Huhdle before the Call of Duty: Ghosts season.
Ghosts[edit]
FaZe recruiting Classic was somewhat controversial at the time due to his close friendship with Replays and lack of experience, but Classic proved himself a worthy pick-up with a strong performance at MLG Fall Championship (MLG Columbus) as well as a 7th place finish at UMG Philadelphia 2013. After these two events, JKap and ProoFy were added to the team and this roster finished the MLG CoD League Season 1 Regular Season in 1st place. At the Call of Duty Championship 2014, the team finished in 6th place, earning Classic $12,500 in prize money. The team struggled however, and failed to achieve higher than 6th at any other tournament, even after adding Theory to form FaZe Red. Classic joined Most Wanted for the remainder of the Ghosts season, teaming with Slacked and former teammates Spacely and Huhdle. This squad finished 3rd at the MLG CoD League Season 3 Playoffs to finish the season.
Advanced Warfare[edit]
Classic played for both Team JusTus and Prophecy NA for the first 6 months of the Advanced Warfare (AW) season, finishing a respectable 4th at Call of Duty Championship 2015 with the latter, netting $25,000. Classic's performance at the start of the season gained him attention from a number of teams, and he was eventually picked up by Elevate, to team once again with Slacked, as well as upcoming players TJHaly and Temp. Classic and Slacked remained consistent members of the team, with Apathy, SlasheR, Saints and Replays all playing for the team at different tournaments. Elevate performed reasonably well for the rest of the AW season, including winning MES Detroit 25k, and coming 3rd at 2015 X Games, earning Classic a bronze medal.
Black Ops 3[edit]
Classic, along with long time teammate Slacked were recruited by Rise Nation to join Loony and Octane. The team won the first event of the year, Totino's Invitational, which was Rise's first event win as an organisation. After qualifying for the 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Regular Season, Rise also won their second LAN event, UMG South Carolina 2016 Champion Tournament. However after this they failed to win another event for the rest of the season, coming up just short in 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Playoffs, finishing 2nd after losing last map in the best of 7 finals vs OpTic Gaming. The match came down to an intense round 11 Search and Destroy, after Rise had battled back from being down 3-5 thanks to some important kills by Classic, but lost the final round. Rise continued to be a top 4 team for the rest of the Black Ops 3 season, however fell short of this standard at the 2016 Call of Duty World League Championship, placing 5-6th.
Infinite Warfare[edit]
Classic, along with Octane and Slacked joined Luminosity Gaming along with Saints, for the Infinite Warfare (IW) season. The team did not find success early in the game, placing 5-6th at the 2017 CWL Las Vegas Open. After some patchy performances in the online MLG GameBattles 2K tournaments, the team came 4th at the 2017 CWL Atlanta Open, and then a disappointing 9-12th at the 2017 CWL Paris Open. Moving on to the 2017 CWL Dallas Open Luminosity would finish 8th really showing the teams weakness in Search and Destroy finishing with a 30% win rate but a 72% Win Rate in Respawn game modes. Continuing onto the Global Pro League they would be the 6th seeded team and would be placed into the yellow group. There they would clinch a second place spot after a dramatic victory against eUnited.
Trivia[edit]
- Classic's nickname was "Nick From Down The Street" because he was known as Replays' actual friend in real life.
