ATL FaZe 2021 Roster

Atlanta FaZe is the official Call of Duty League franchise team of Atlanta, United States. It is owned and operated by Atlanta Esports Ventures. The team is the successor to FaZe Clan, which had competed continuously in Call of Duty between 2012 and 2019.

History[]

Modern Warfare[]

The Atlanta Franchise was announced on May 2, 2019, as one of the first five franchises in the Call of Duty League. Replays joined the team as head coach on September 22, followed up by RJ as assistant coach on September 24, and Easy Mac as analyst on September 26. On October 26, the team announced their full starting roster, with aBeZy, Simp, Cellium, MajorManiak and Priestahh joining. At the same time, the team branding was revealed as Atlanta FaZe. JurNii and GRVTY joined as the team's first two substitutes on December 5. On January 22, 2020, FaZe announced their academy team, AF Academy, with JurNii and GRVTY joined by Abstraact, TurnUp2eZ, and Zaptius.

FaZe was considered the top team coming into Launch Weekend and they proved it by defeated both Dallas Empire and New York in dominant fashion, not dropping a single Search and Destroy round en route to a 2-0 record. In their first tournament, their own Week 3 home series, FaZe entered as favorites and delivered for their fans. The won all four of their matches, only dropping four maps and became the first team to win a home series in their city after defeating Florida 3-0 in the final. Going into Week 4, everyone expected FaZe to win easily with Chicago Huntsmen not attending the event. Things did not go as planned though. FaZe did make it out of their group without dropping a map but matched up against Minnesota RØKKR, the only team to push Atlanta to map 5, in the semifinals, and the series once again went to map 5. Minnesota RØKKR took the fifth map, gave Atlanta their first ever series loss, and knocked them out of the tournament. In Week 6, FaZe made a return to the finals but lost 3-1 to Dallas Empire.

FaZe showed up in Week 7 looking to right the wrongs of their previous two events. They made it out of the group stage after beating Paris and London handily. The bracket stage was not as easy as they beast New York Subliners 3-2 and narrowly beat OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3-1 in the final to earn their second CDL Championship. Going into the "toughest" home series of the year, Atlanta could have claimed their third title, but fell in the final to Florida Mutineers 1-3 after performing very poorly throughout the whole weekend. They had to reverse sweep Seattle and Dallas in the group stage, then narrowly beat LA Guerrillas in the semifinal. The weekend could have ended way worse if not for clutch S&D performances throughout the weekend. The next weekend, Atlanta once again made it to a Grand Final vs Florida but this time it wasn't close. Florida won 3-0 including the biggest domination blow out in CDL history, 235-70 on Hackney Yard. Week 11 saw the first ever matchup between Atlanta and Chicago. This was in the semifinals due to Atlanta losing to Toronto Ultra in the group stage. Chicago took the series 3-0. FaZe entered the final week trying to tie Florida Mutineers and Dallas Empire with three home series wins each, but fell in the final to Toronto Ultra 2-3 in an amazing series. Despite that, Atlanta finished the inaugural Call of Duty League Season with the #1 overall seed with 280 CDL Points.

Atlanta started the Call of Duty League Championship 2020 in Winners Round 3 where they beat Chicago Huntsmen 3-2. FaZe then lost to Dallas Empire 2-3 in the Winners Final. In the Losers Final, they beat Chicago Huntsmen 3-1 before losing to Dallas Empire 1-5 in the Grand Final. They finished the event in second place.

Black Ops Cold War[]

On September 15, Priestahh and MajorManiak left to join Minnesota RØKKR with Arcitys joining as the team's new Main AR. On January 18, Sibilants joined the team as substitute after competing on the AF Academy roster during the 2020 season.

Atlanta entered the season as Top 2 favorites alongside Dallas Empire and immediately showed why that was. They were the only undefeated team in Stage 1 and carried that all the way through the Major as they beat Los Angeles Guerrillas and then Dallas twice (with an 8-2 map count) to win the first Major of the season in dominant fashion. Stage 2 did not go quite as well. Atlanta won their first three series of the season but then lost 2-3 to LA Guerrillas to end the team's CDL record of eleven straight series wins. After beating London, FaZe took the first seed in the group. They beat Toronto Ultra in Winners Round 2and then Dallas Empire once again in the Winners Final to make their fourth consecutive grand final appearance dating back to last season. They were up against the last team that beat them in grand final - Toronto Ultra. Toronto's momentum from three previous series on the day was too much for Atlanta to handle as they were defeated 3-5.
